Only in Alaska

2 December 2010 - We all went down to the Richardson side of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson for a Christmas concert put on by the 9th Army Alaska Arctic Warrior Band (http://www.wainwright.army.mil/9ArmyBand/awm.html).  The boys got to drink hot chocolate, and really got into the concert.  Austin especially got a kick out of hearing "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer."  Gunnar took off down the aisle with chocolate on his hands and nearly slimed the Brigadier General that was there for the occasion.  After the concert, everyone went outside (it was just below zero degrees Fahrenheit) for the lighting of the Christmas tree, and then a visit from Santa Claus himself, being pulled in a sled by real reindeer!  The boys all got to get their pictures taken with Santa and his reindeer.  Everyone had a great time, but I think Kjaristy was the most excited of all to get to pet Rudolph.
