In October 2009, I was accepted into the JAG Corps of the United States Air Force. In March 2010, we were given a choice between Anchorage, Alaska and San Angelo, Texas for our first assignment. We chose Alaska. So we said goodbye to Colorado and after a summer of COT and JASOC in deep Walmart (I mean Alabama), we loaded the Durango and headed north.
While eating lunch at a small cafe in Glennallen, Alaska, Kj found an outdoor adventure magazine introducing the concept of "bearfooting." It described bearfooting as a verb that means having a good time, but it is also a state of mind, when your journey becomes more important than your destination. This blog is our attempt to document our bearfooting experiences, but also make everyone jealous along the way! :)
